The
Chamber is committed to helping its
members save money and mitigate
increases due to the rising cost of
energy. The Chamber has enlisted the
services of OnDemand Energy to create an
aggregated buying pool which will buy
electricity in bulk for a fixed time
period as a way to lock in a lower price
for chamber member participants.
“This new program could present
businesses with a significant
opportunity to control energy costs,”
said Bob Layo, Chamber president & CEO.
The buying pool approach is nothing new. Business associations have used
it to purchase health insurance, office
supplies and various services for
years. “But with energy, larger and
mid-sized users alike typically have not
had the same pooling opportunity to
obtain bulk prices that we are now
working to coordinate,” continued Layo.
